Practical help

This is very helpful in understanding person with BPD, or BPD traits. It also helps partners, caregivers and children of PWBPD make decisions and regulate our own emotions understanding that much of their behaviors are result of their sickness and have nothing to do with us as person. It engages and gives real life examples that are extremely helpful to understand the heart and mind of PWBPD. Great book to listen to.

Now I know

Now that I can see it and understand, the cycle I have been in for years with my spouse makes sense and his behaviour. I’ve always blamed myself for not being enough even though deep down I was sure I was. I’m grieving now and don’t know what my future holds. Although we have a son together and his mental health and ability to grow into a confident man that has a healthy sense of self and others is what I want most. Now I have some tools to make a plan.

Life Altering

The authors and contributors to this book have made a profound change in the trajectory of my life and in the life of the BP I care about. My only regret is that I didn’t read this book and encounter a great psychiatrist years earlier before so much damage was done and years of Herculean but completely unproductive effort was spent arguing logic and reason when there was none and arguing for it wasn’t the right path. Thank you for your insights and wise and sound counsel.

Invaluable advises for those dealing with someone with BPD

I have a loved one that suffers from BPD, because of this I often felt confused and manipulated, to say the least, by this person. This book has helped me understand why my loved one acts the way they do, what I can do to effectively communicate with them, and how to establish boundaries and take care of myself. I highly recommend this reading to anyone who is seeking to understand BPD better, either because they suspect they might have BPD themselves, or perhaps because they want to support a loved one with BPD but are struggling to find ways as to how to do it without sacrificing their own well-being.

I have learned more about BPD and how to cope

As a child of a mother with BPD and NPD I have always struggled with her arguments and temper tantrums. this book has given me more insight of what goes on in the mind of a person with these conditions. I was crying beciase I finally knew why my mother would picking on me, manipulate and all around be violent.

thank you for teaching me more about how I can cope and protect myself from my mother's delusions and illness. I feel relieved to know I'm not the one at fault and I'm not alone.

hopefully with this book , and counsulling I can help not only myself, but I can help my mom.

Trying to find answers to behaviors of a loved one

This book has helped me recognize that I have to stop doing what I am currently doing and enabling a loved one’s behavior.
How to respond and not go down the rabbit hole of hopelessness, disparity, paranoia,
Addiction, fear abandonment with the person that is suffering.
My loved one has not been diagnosed with BPD but has so may behaviors of one that suffers from it. My loved one refuses to go to any professional counseling or therapist to seek help but knows there is something g that is not right in his head.
