Publisher's Summary

A Grey Knights Novel

Two aspirants are recruited into the Grey Knights, and must hone their psychic talents if they are to join the hallowed and mysterious ranks of the Space Marine daemon hunters.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's a deep exploration of the Grey Knights and the events surrounding the First Armageddon War... including an appearance by the fearsome Angron, daemon primarch of the World Eaters.

THE STORY

The Grey Knights are all that stands between humanity and the ravages of Chaos. Since their secretive beginnings during the Horus Heresy, these legendary Space Marine daemon hunters have journeyed into the dark realms of the warp – and beyond – in pursuit of their supernatural enemies. Through an intensive regime of psychic training, new recruits are brought to the clandestine fortress of Titan to join the hallowed and vaunted ranks of the 666th Chapter.

More than ever, these legendary battle-brothers must be vigilant and ever ready to defend the Imperium – for the forces of Chaos are never truly defeated, and Armageddon beckons.

amazing writing, amazing narattor

this Kent guy is now the greatest 40k narrator. ADB and Abnett are the best 40k writers, but I'm ready to say ADB is my favourite.

incredible story! coming from an ardent Grey Knights hater.

A 40k story with a good twist.

A fantastic story about the secrets of the Grey Knights and the implications of their appearances before other humans.

Extraordinary

Was hyped to hear Hyperions story and was not disappointed. Reading Eisenhorn and Ravenor before this was great for knowing a small bit of history about Hyperions childhood.

In my top 5 after listening to hundreds of others

I have listen to over a hundred Warhammer audiobooks and this is in my top five without a doubt. First off, as far as how I imagine a Space Marine voice this was in my opinion the best narrator of any Warhammer book as his voice naturally sounds like a space Marine plus every other voice he does. Second, the way it's told is fantastic in that it's told from  the point of view of a basically new grey knight. It's shows alot more of the human behind the space Marine as it's told from Helios point of view as if he is speaking to a scribe writing down the history of Armageddon. Plus there are multiple points were you think the story ends so you get sad. Yet, you realize you still have another 2-5 hours of book and it gets exciting. Only downside is there are a few major moments they kinda push aside and you feel kinda robbed. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would.

Little slow

It was a good book but very slow. I would still read it if your interested in the grey knights.
