Publisher's Summary

The author of the bestselling Plant Paradox series takes a fresh look at one of the top health issues plaguing Americans—fatigue—and offers a revolutionary plan for boosting energy and revitalizing mental and physical stamina.

In his bestselling books, The Plant Paradox and The Longevity Paradox, Dr. Steven R. Gundry offered game-changing perspectives on our wellbeing. In The Energy Paradox, Dr. Gundry expands upon his previous discussions of gut, microbiome, and mitochondrial health, linking immune malfunction to the mental and physical symptoms of fatigue—including exhaustion, brain fog, depression, anxiety, and low metabolism.

As Dr. Gundry explains, feeling tired, moody, and zapped of energy is not normal, no matter your workload or age. Fatigue is an SOS flare from the body, one that is intended to alert us that something is wrong. In his clinical work, Dr. Gundry has found that his patients who complain of feeling sick and tired all the time almost always have something in common: the inflammation markers of a leaky gut.

In The Energy Paradox, Dr. Gundry will offer listeners the information and tools necessary to quiet the autoimmune battle raging within—a battle that depletes precious energy reserves, leaving you drained and prone to mood disorders and weight gain. With new guidelines on how to increase mitochondrial energy production and nourish the microbiome, 30 new Plant Paradox-approved recipes, and lists of energy-boosting foods to consume and energy-depleting foods to avoid, The Energy Paradox will help listeners take back their lives, giving them the energy they need to feel, look, and be their best.

Excellent book

Like other Dr G’s book, this book is great to provide information about inner workings of the body systems at cellular level.
I’ve been following Dr. G’s diet and it has worked great for me.
Excellent read/listen

Insightful

I really enjoyed this book as it had a good fact based narrative. Dr. Gundry explains his thoughts clearly for the common individual to understand. It's a great guide to improving your health for the long term. I would definitely recommend it.

Good but a little repetitive

Lots of interesting and good information, but most of it is close enough to the information in his other books that it may not be worth the extra purchase.

Plenty of good advices

I’ve read Plant Paradox a few years ago … and took this book to catch up with updates in nutrition science. Gundry goes into nutritional science a bit more than I need to know or capable of validating… but it doesn’t hurt to hear once. However, there are a lot of down to earth and applicable advices which I’m going to try and see how does it work for me. Will get a print copy of the book too since there are a lot of details and names to write down. If you are not avid audio books listener as I am - you might go straight for printed version. Anyways, it’s well worth for all the health benefits you might derive for yourself. Thanks

More Science Fiction Than Fact

I was expecting something more well-researched and cited. He spends more time talking about himself and his own brilliance than discussing scientific research. The research he does discuss is vague and unverifiable. I did not realize Dr. Gundry's association with GOOP before I purchased the book or I would have avoided it entirely. His other two books have already been thoroughly debunked by the scientific community, and I expect further criticism will be levied at this new chapter of pseudo-science.
