Histoire
Exile to the miserable world of Sedh, the disgraced Necron Lord Oltyx is consumed with bitterness. Once heir to the throne of a dynasty, he now commands nothing but a dwindling garrison of warriors, in a never-ending struggle against Ork invaders. Oltyx can think of nothing but the prospect of vengeance against his betrayers, and the reclamation of his birthright. But the Orks are merely the harbingers of a truly unstoppable force. Unless Oltyx acts to save his dynasty, revenge will win him only ashes.

Fell times have come to the galaxy. Cadia has fallen, destroyed by the onslaught of Chaos. A Great Rift in the warp has opened, and from its depths spew daemons and the horrors of Old Night. But all hope is not lost… A hero, long absent, has returned, and with him comes the wrath of the Ultramarines reborn. Roboute Guilliman has arisen to lead the Imperium out of darkness on a crusade the likes of which has not been seen since the fabled days of the Emperor. The Night Lords were once among the most potent forces of the Imperium, Space Marines who used fear itself as their weapon. Now, cast adrift from the Emperor's light and hunted as heretics after their monstrous betrayal, the Night Lords clad themselves in symbols of death and fight the Long War, bringing pain and terror to all who worship the corpse-god of Terra. A summons from Warmaster Abaddon sends these rebels on a dangerous journey that leads inexorably to a conflict with the Emperor's chosen warriors, the Blood Angels.

After seven years of bitter war, the end has come at last for the conflict known infamously as the Horus Heresy. Terra now lies within the Warmaster’s sights, the Throneworld and the seat of his father’s rule. Horus’ desire is nothing less than the death of the Emperor of Mankind and the utter subjugation of the Imperium. He has become the ascendant vessel of Chaos and amassed a terrible army with which to enact his will and vengeance. But the way to the Throne will be hard as the primarch Rogal Dorn, the Praetorian and protector of Terra, marshals the defences.

Cthonia, a world once dominated by brutal murder-gangs, is occupied by the Emperor’s praetorians—the indomitable Imperial Fists. For the Sons of Horus, this outrage demands a reckoning.

Description
A Necrons audio.
Trazyn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner are opposites. Each is obsessed with their own speciality and their rivalry spans a millennia. Yet together, they may hold the secret to saving the necron race....
Listen to it because: explore a story told across the millennia that delves deep into a pair of fascinating necron characters, their relationship and their plans for the galaxy.
The story: before the being called the Emperor revealed himself, before the rise of the aeldari, before the necrontyr traded their flesh for immortal metal, the world was born in violence. Even when they inhabited bodies of flesh, Trazyn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner were polar opposites. Trazyn, a collector of historical oddities, presides over a gallery full of the most dangerous artefacts - and people - of the galactic past. Orikan, a chronomancer without peer, draws zodiacs that predict and manipulate the future. But when an artefact emerges that may hold the key to the necrons’ next evolution, these two obsessives enter a multi-millennia game of cat and mouse that ends civilisations, reshapes timelines, and changes both forever. As riddles unwind and ancient secrets are revealed, the question remains: will their feud save the necron race or destroy it?
Written by Robert Rath. Narrated by Richard Reed.

The Lightest That 40k Gets
In the grimdarkness of the future... there's these two. Literally the most powerful and oldest beings in a tellable tale, these two are more relatable than your favorite space marine. Powerful, petty and petulant with a Grumpy Old Men vibe. (this was my 3rd listen).
Other than Caiaphas, the most smiles you'll get from 40k. A must read

Some Great insight to Necrons and a lot of fun!
The rivalry between Trazyn and Orakin is.... unrivalled. I'll be here all week.
Some very cool looks into the "life" of the Necrons. It also touches on the Flayer and Destroyer viruses. The story feels very epic and Warhammer-ish but still manages to include a great deal of humor. Overall masterfully written and narrated. I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the 40k universe and especially Necrons.

Amazing story!
This is one one of those books that's better as an a listen rather than a read. The banter between Trazyn and Orikan is fantastic, it's just the right amount of funny in a universe that's typically pretty dark.

Small review (spoiler free)
I dont know of too much necron books/audiobooks, I found this quite enjoyable, with the narrator and his vocal performance it brought a certain charm to it and hooked me in, not to mention it is a rather well done book and delved into necron politics, which may be a turn off to some. Overall well done, highly recommended for all necron fans
