Never to late...
- By Don on 2019-03-12
Publisher's Summary
While the title implies that this book deals only with how to achieve monetary wealth, the author explains that the philosophy taught in the book can be used to help individuals do or be almost anything they want in this world. For instance, Jim Murray (sportswriter) wrote that "Think and Grow Rich" was credited for Ken Norton's boxing upset of Muhammad Ali in 1973.
The book was first published in 1937 during the Great Depression. At the time of Hill's death in 1970, "Think and Grow Rich" had sold 20 million copies. It remains the biggest seller of Napoleon Hill's books, a perennial bestseller after 70 years (BusinessWeek Magazine's BestSeller List ranked "Think and Grow Rich" as the sixth bestselling paperback business book 70 years after it was first published).
"Think and Grow Rich" is listed in John C. Maxwell's "A Lifetime Must Read Books List".

Worst Book I've listened to on Audible!
This book has almost no redeeming qualities. At least a third of this book could be cut as it is just the author saying over and over how great the book is and how profound an affect it will have on your life. After the author finally starts to get into it, he tells a rambling anecdote to illustrate how determination is an important quality to possess if you want to be successful -how illuminating! It goes downhill fast from there. Here are just a few of the pearls of wisdom that followed: Deafness can be cured by wanting to hear, Prayer is essential to wealth accumulation, Visualize a -very- specific amount of money and your mind will bring it to you, By surrounding yourself with intelligent people you can gain insights through their brain vibrations, Use your psychic powers to gain a sixth sense akin to telepathy, Transmuting your sexual energy into power brings success, Don't be afraid of ghosts . . . and more! TLDR: This is not a useful self help or business strategy book. It is an out of date assembly anecdotes about early 20th century business magnates, woven together with mystical assertions about how they gained their wealth.

could have been said in a paragraph
I know this book has received great acclaim but its message of "never give up" and "you set your own limits by what you will accept" is at best a pep talk
it isn't much more than you could get in any fortune cookie
It starts out like a chain letter talking about who has received this message and what its done for each of them
while this message may be true and indispensable for true success, the idea that "everything else will fall into place once you're ready to accept it", is just a tacit admission that getting ready to accept it is the hard bit not covered in these pages.

A stepping stone for anyone beginning their intellectual journey
The idea is very clear and translated very well for any average reader, some of the social ideals are mildly questionable in this day and age in regards of what to expect when dealing with businesses and the offering of free service with the understanding that it won’t be exploited but in dealing with how to hold oneself to a standard and run their own business is very important. Also the $65 for an apartment in t he city of New York and $25 in suburbs gave me a good chuckle.

Timeless Advice
I have read dozens if not a hundred of self help books. Once I read “Think & Grow Rich” I’ve realized that all those books base their information and ideas from this book. Not only does this book cover the ideas of all the other books, it predates them by multiple decades. And while the stories and language might be outdated, the central is idea is timeless and relevant today.

The table of content navigation is a disaster
Personally I like to browse the book and come back to chapters when I want to listen them again. To do this I use the table of content, however I ve never seen a more complex and unfriendly one than in this audiobook. The split is not by chapter but by unnamed pieces of 3 min each. Despite the good quality of the book and the superb reader, my experience was diminished by this issue.

chapters
i really enjoyed listening to this book. It is full of interesting knowledge and you get your aha- moments along the way to start realizng what lays next on your path.
It is a pity though that there are an enourmous amount of chapters that do not relate to the books chapters. sometimes a "new" chapter even starts in the middle of a phrase.
This makes it incredibly difficult to go back to a particular part of the book.
