The novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë was published in 1847 under the pseudonym "Ellis Bell". Written between October 1845 and June 1846, Wuthering Heights was influenced by Romanticism including the novels of Byron and Walter Scott.

Wuthering Heights has inspired many adaptations, including film, radio, and television dramatizations and a hit song by Kate Bush.
