David Whisenant is a Salisbury native who worked as a news reporter and anchor with WBTV in Charlotte for more than 30 years. His reporting earned several awards, including an Emmy and several awards from the Radio, Television, Digital News Directors Association of the Carolinas and the National Motorsports Press Association.
