Dr. Shafer explains the importance of advocacy, knowledge, and follow-through as vital components toward their safety, wellness, and hope to become contributing members of society. A brief and timely reflection on the effect that COVID-19 is having on distance learning for special-needs students has been added. 

The Sound of Success is the second book in Dr. Shafer’s Reflections series. He demonstrates action plans that uncover the wonderful opportunities that are available for special needs children in the public and private sector. He utilizes a case-study approach to help parents, teachers, and caregivers understand the unique process of finding the best educational placement for their children.
