Publisher's Summary
Ever since Martin Banks and his fellow computer geeks discovered that reality is just a computer program to be happily hacked, they've been jaunting back and forth through time, posing as medieval wizards and having the epic adventures that other nerds can only dream of having. But even in their wildest fantasies, they never expected to end up at the mercy of the former apprentice whom they sent to prison for gross misuse of magic and all-around evil behavior.
Who knew that the vengeful Todd would escape, then conjure a computer game packed with wolves, wenches, wastelands, and assorted harrowing hazards - and trap his hapless former friends inside it? Stripped of their magic powers, the would-be wizards must brave terrifying dangers, technical glitches, and one another's company if they want to see Medieval England - and their favorite sci-fi movies on VHS - ever again. Can our heroes survive this magical mystery torture? Or will it only lead them and their pointy hats into more peril?

Funny and entertaining
I loved the video game brought to life storyline. A nice, logical but still kind of surprising, twist on the life is a computer program theme of the series. The narrator is fantastic with the different character’s distinct voices and it’s such a fun story to listen to.

Another absolutely hilarious Meyer/Daniels combo!
Another absolutely hilarious story by Scott Meyer and even more fantastic narration by Luke Daniels! I am loving this series and all the ridiculousness contained within. This time round, the older wizards are suddenly and mysteriously transported from their home to another place and the new ones (Martin and Roy, along with Britt and Gwenn from Atlantis) need to go find them. Turns out it is Todd, the evil trainee from before Martin arrive that the wizards had banished, that is seeking his revenge through a mad video game death voyage scheme.
Almost all the action happens in Todd's video game where the stock characters have no interaction capabilities, which means some of the funny conversations and engagements with the locals is lost in this book. But, thankfully, the relationships between the wizards is done well, even if the whole 'hate on Jimmy' motif is a bit overblown.
The narration is once again one of the best. The accents by Daniels and the over the top inflections are what make this a five star audio book. Can't wait for the next one!

fun addition, performance makes it. Comical pop culture references and play on word banter. not as good as part one on par with par two.

A fun distraction
Another solid entry in this series. The story is not overly complex, novel, or groundbreaking - but still fun and entertaining. Once again Luke Daniels narration is the highlight of the experience.

A Bad DM walks into a Room...
I loved this one because it felt very stand-alone. It's the equivalent of someone writing a very poor dnd campaign and forcing their unenthusiastic friends to play it. I listened to this over one weekend and I loved it.

Entertaining and Laugh Out Loud
Smiling in public by yourself and no one pays you mind. Laughing out loud in public by yourself and everyone looks at you like you're a crazy person. Especially when you're running on a treadmill at the gym and have to stop to laugh at the ridiculousness of the story. This is an amazing story. Worth every minute.
