Description

An empowering and witty guide to banishing shame and living your fullest life with ADHD—plus tips for loved ones on helping them navigate this world, too—from viral duo ADHD_Love.

What if you stopped feeling ashamed of constantly being late or of getting so hyperfocused on a task that you drop everything else you had to do? How can you as a partner, parent, or friend better understand your neurodivergent loved one’s way of moving through the world?

In Dirty Laundry, life partners Rich Pink and Rox Emery unapologetically guide you through the ups and downs of life with ADHD. Every chapter starts with a common symptom of ADHD, like impulsivity or struggles with finances, and an earnest moment from their own lives to show you how they navigate the symptom together. Rox reminds you to be kind to yourself and love yourself for who you are; Rich offers tips on how he uses compassion and honesty instead of jumping to conclusions. Whether it's helping your ADHDer with friendly time-checks before an appointment or reminding yourself to take breaks during hours spent hyperfocusing on a new project, Rox and Rich give you the tools to destigmatize and normalize life with ADHD.

funny informative and compassionate

A great read for anyone with adhd or someone who loves someone with adhd. I can't wait to listen to this with my partner and hope to own a hard copy some day as well.

How much I relate to this.

I am so happy to have come across this amazing couple on Facebook and then download their book. I am sad that I have finished listening to the book. I was really enjoying listening to them both. How open they both are about their lives and how much I can relate to them. I hope they continue to write and post on social media.

Thank you!

Thank you for normalizing adhd. especially in women.
My partner and I laughed as we listened, relating to so many things. I exclaimed many times "see, it's not just me"?!

I love how you get both the adhd perspective and a NT point of view. So many resources are from a NT perspective, and feel preachy and unrelatable.
This book hits home. And is a gift.

Thank you Rox and Rich!

Balanced and well written

Structurally, I think this book absolutely nails it. It combines specific examples, analysis, and productive approaches to some of the seemingly inexplicable and tormenting aspects of living with ADHD from a neurodivergent and neurotypical perspective.

The material presented here creates so much space for discussion and exploration, which has been a great foundation for me to examine many of my own experiences. And yet, the chapters feel focused and whole, imparting a sort of grounded optimism to a condition that can be extremely disruptive to live with. It’s almost as if one of the authors is expert in composing complex journeys that achieve unifying and satisfying resolutions 🤔

And I’m so pleased that they read this themselves. It’s a great personal touch, especially given the extremely personal nature of the content.

Eye opening and relatable stories

I was gonna leave the review for later, but we all know where that would end up! So taking the time to say this book and their TikTok’s have really opened up a new perspective- no diagnosis yet. But truly relatable. If it wasn’t for their Instagram account I would never have realized that I have been living with this my whole life. It is a great book that will make you laugh, cry and most importantly, make you understand that you are not alone. Thank you Rox and Rich, you have made a huge difference in my life 🫶

Life altering

I can’t find the words to express just how much this book means to me. Nothing and I mean NOTHING has ever helped me deal with the shame I experience and the pain of hiding so much of me, including receiving a diagnosis…that is, until this. I actually understand now that it’s possible I could be loved. This changes absolutely everything. If you have adhd or know someone with adhd, please please please do yourself a favour and make this a must read.

Your honesty!

Loved it all! Listened twice! That’s my ADHD brain!! I laughed at so many chapters, and said “that’s me”! Helped me understand my struggles that were never addressed until my recent diagnosis at the age of 66. Bless you both! ❤️

Affirmation help

Rox and Rich's book affirmed many of my symptoms now and from the past. This gave me a sense of not being alone and more awareness of how I do things. It was vulnerable, helpful and I'm sharing it with everyone I know so they can understand me a little better.❤️ guys and thanks!
