À propos de cet audio
From a New York Times bestselling and Hugo award-winning author comes a modern masterwork of science fiction, introducing a captain, his crew, and a detective as they unravel a horrifying solar system wide conspiracy that begins with a single missing girl. Now a Prime Original series.
Humanity has colonized the solar system—Mars, the Moon, the Asteroid Belt and beyond—but the stars are still out of our reach.
Jim Holden is XO of an ice miner making runs from the rings of Saturn to the mining stations of the Belt. When he and his crew stumble upon a derelict ship, the Scopuli, they find themselves in possession of a secret they never wanted. A secret that someone is willing to kill for—and kill on a scale unfathomable to Jim and his crew. War is brewing in the system unless he can find out who left the ship and why.
Detective Miller is looking for a girl. One girl in a system of billions, but her parents have money and money talks. When the trail leads him to the Scopuli and rebel sympathizer Holden, he realizes that this girl may be the key to everything.
Holden and Miller must thread the needle between the Earth government, the Outer Planet revolutionaries, and secretive corporations—and the odds are against them. But out in the Belt, the rules are different, and one small ship can change the fate of the universe.

Porter Beck is the sheriff in the high desert of Nevada, north of Las Vegas. Born and raised there, he left to join the Army, where he worked in Intelligence, deep in the shadows in far off places. Now he's back home, doing the same lawman's job his father once did, before his father started to develop dementia. All is relatively quiet in this corner of the world, until on old, retired FBI agent is found killed. He was brutally tortured before he was killed and clues at the scene point to a mystery dating back to the early days of the nuclear age.

This book had me in suspense, full thought, laughing and even slightly angry(in a good way) at times..
The characters were beautifully brought to life.
Amazing through and through!
Un problème est survenu. Veuillez réessayer dans quelques minutes.
I greatly enjoyed, and then mourned, when the original Syfy series debuted and then got cancelled. My elation when Amazon picked it up afterwards was something I hadn’t experienced previously. Unfortunately and predictably, as with the GOT series, production costs forced the final two seasons into a rushed and disappointing end.
It was then that I came to decide to experience the audio novel and discover all of the character and story development and other good bits that inevitably go missing.
Audio books in and of themselves are not exactly familiar ground for me. However, this seemed like just the kind of novel to cover that as well.
Again using the GOT comparison, the initial volume of The Expanse was well adapted in it’s initial season on TV, and so there were few surprises in plot or character development. The story concept, and it’s arc is what I fell in love with. A future that seems palpably close to our own. Humanity’s insatiable need for exploration and discovery will always sing to me. Fortunately this is enough,…enough to overcome much the of average writing I found within.
The Characters that live in Leviathan Wakes, although not completely hackneyed, are typical much in the way that Hollywood would have them portrayed. Perhaps I am jaded due to having seen the series first, and it will be with the novels that follow in the series that will provide the unexpected that I am craving. Oh yes, in case there was any doubt, I will be listening or perhaps reading the remainder of the series. A fact which in itself probably provides the best clue as to how much I did enjoy the odyssey of the Rocinante and her crew.
On to Caliban’s War then shall we?
Leonard Gareau.
