• Built to Last with David Amerland
    May 2 2025

"Health is the foundation of everything."

In this episode, David Amerland breaks down what it really means to be healthy—and how managing your energy, emotions, and daily routines impacts every part of your life.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Fitness is function, not appearance. It’s about movement, capability, and feeling good inside and out.
    • Energy is finite. Every thought, emotion, and action consumes it—so how you manage your energy matters.
    • Habits = Efficiency. Routines reduce decision fatigue, helping you make better choices throughout the day.
    • Adaptability beats Perfection. Life rarely goes to plan—being flexible is essential.
    • Emotional regulation is power. Daily practice helps you stay calm, think clearly, and respond, not react.
    • Know your why. When you understand what drives you, you make more intentional choices.

📘 Built to Last is David’s latest book to building long-term well-being by understanding yourself and designing a life that lasts.

  • See the Bigger Picture
    Apr 30 2025

In this episode, we’re diving into the power of perspective. It’s easy to get caught up in the small stuff—whether it’s a number on the scale, a single mistake, or feeling like you’re not making a difference. But when we zoom out, everything starts to shift.

Peggy Meyer shares four key areas where our focus tends to get too narrow: 🔹 The Scale 🔹 Our Impact 🔹 One Mistake 🔹 Our Life

You’ll learn how to step back, shift your mindset, and see things from a higher vantage point. Because life isn’t just one moment or one misstep—it’s the whole story.

Key Takeaways: ✨ When you're stuck, zoom out. ✨ Don’t let one number or moment define your worth. ✨ “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Wayne Dyer ✨ Focus on the good, recognize your impact, give yourself grace—and most importantly, keep showing up.

  • Stop Overeating NOW with Nadege Saysana
    Apr 25 2025

Ever felt like your eating was out of control? That you couldn't stop? Have you ever eaten out of stress, frustration or overwhelm?

In this episode, Nadege (Nan) Saysana dives into the deeper reasons behind emotional eating and yo-yo dieting—and how our thoughts play a powerful role in shaping our habits.

Using the analogy of a rubber band, she share how being overly restrictive with food often leads to bingeing, not because of lack of willpower, but due to stress, frustration, and exhaustion.

Nan breaks down the idea that thoughts lead to emotions, which drive our actions—and that by becoming aware of our thoughts, we can shift our emotional responses and make better choices. You'll learn how to create a "menu of thoughts" to choose from each day, and how your mindset directly influences the kind of food you reach for.

    Key takeaways:

    • Food is often used to mask emotional pain.
    • You can choose your thoughts—and that choice gives you power.
    • Don’t believe every thought; they aren’t always facts.
    • Focus on who you want to become and gather evidence to support that vision.
    • Learn from failures without blame or shame.
    • Replace being furious with being curious—and keep moving forward.

This episode is all about taking back your power with awareness, curiosity, and compassion—starting exactly where you are.

  • What Are You Hungry For?
    Apr 9 2025

Years ago, when putting on a 12-week Wellness class this was the question I asked with a photo of a well-stocked open fridge and the caption that said, “What you're looking for is not in here."

This episode is not about physical hunger. This episode is about what you are really looking or hungry for. If it's not food then what are we really hungry for?

Mother Teresa said, "There is a terrible hunger for love." So, we can be hungry for love. We can also be emotionally and spiritually hungry, or we can hunger for knowledge, truth, justice, peace, and for meaning and purpose.

One of Les Brown's famous quotes is, “If you want to do anything worthwhile in life, you got to be HUNGRY!”

Discovering of what you are really hungry for requires lots of reflection, journaling, looking within, and is often spiritual in nature.
