You may feel ordinary, no more special than a solitary droplet of rain in a storm. But I’m here to tell you that you are extraordinary in God’s eyes. After creating you and me, God looked at us and said we are good, “very good” (Genesis 1:31). 

As women, we can be so hard on ourselves. We look in the mirror and see our blemishes. You and I look at our lives and see our bent and broken moments. Yet through Christ, God looks at us and sees us as his unblemished daughters. He looks at our lives and sees how bent and broken moments can form perfect prisms, allowing us - like colorless light - to be bent and broken, blooming in arcs of color like a rainbow! While rainy seasons in life can be filled with stormy trials, they can also bring vibrant growth. Rain can nourish life, just as trials can nourish faith. 

This book shares bent and broken moments from my own crazy days. Life is a journey through so many seasons. We are wives and mothers. Daughters and sisters. Homemakers and coworkers. We have friends and fears...frustrations and flaws. None of us have mastered it all, least of all me, so we need to encourage one another! Every morning after we pull up the covers making our beds, we can uncover the unexpected, experiencing his spirit. 

We can find more than lost socks in the laundry when we're paired with God. And when we cling to his truths, like socks to a sweater, life becomes sweeter. Heaven knows, you’re pulled more directions than a bra that has escaped the lingerie bag in the washer. When your car keys are misplaced, your cell phone is dead and your gas tank is on empty, you can turn to God to be refreshed, recharged and refilled. 

Like Chicken Soup for the Soul, this book is meant to brighten your days. It’s lighthearted. Laugh out loud as we see how blunders can become blessings. Laughter is good.
