No thanks. Completely missed the mark.

I would have preferred to hear the author read her book. The male voice coming at me was not something I wanted to hear from a female author and MD.

Also, the Lion analogy didn’t make sense to me. The lion isn’t the apex predator because he/she DECIDED to be. It’s because of the lion’s genetic make-up and skill that makes him an apex predator. The other animals don’t fear the lion because they lack confidence, it’s because they can’t run/climb as fast and aren’t equipped with the teeth and claws combined with sheer muscular power of the lion. I know where she was going, but it was a terrible comparison.

Then she started in on biblical passages, which I found offensive and confusing. I bought a book written by an MD, not a religious leader. Satan is referred to far too often. It’s rather laughable.

Anyyyway, I really wanted to love this book, but found myself rolling my eyes and getting very annoyed. Not the reaction I wanted or expected from a personal development book.

Waste of an audible credit. :/
