Publisher's Summary

The Imperials have devised a cunning new method of destroying Rebel worlds. Captain Leo Blake is largely responsible for both our survival and our current predicament. He and his crew are infamous among the stars. As a result, when ships of an unknown configuration begin flowing out of swirling rifts above Earth, Blake is called upon again to deal with the problem.

But the approaching fleet isn't what it seems. They're employing an entirely new way to exterminate Rebels. They will accept nothing less than conquering Earth - or, better yet, destroying all life on our planet.

Alpha Fleet is the third book in the Rebel Fleet series.

disappointing and generic

unlike the first two books, this third doesn't really progress much further than it did towards the end of the second book. while there is some additional information about another enemy, there isn't much development in the overall plot. in addition to this feeling, the main character seems to lack the clarity and consistency illustrated in the first two books. in fact he appears to become somewhat senile since book 2. also in this book there seem to be a consistent use of lies and fabrications to those he'd call allies, directly related to decisions that were not consistent with his character as developed in the first two books. overall a disappointing book. probably best to skip this book and move on to the next.

Not as good

It’s losing quality. Relying to much on the ‘preditors not understanding manipulation’ too much. Almost makes me not want to read the next one, but I like completion.
