While I will say I was often cringing a little at the beginning of the book I became quite enthralled by the end. There where some questionable word choices and sentences in the beginning. While the words didn't always mesh well together it drastically improved as the book progressed along with all subsequent books. If I had to take a guess I'd say the author found their stride and stopped overthinking things.

I've listened up until book four at this point and am quite pleased with the author and narrator. Both have done a wonderful job keeping the book entertaining. Keep up the good work guys!

Since this book is the set up for the series it started a little slow as you got to understand the situation, the system and how it would affect earth and Zach.

Over all it was well paced, didn’t treat you like a complete idiot and didn’t get too deep into the mechanics, but deep enough you understand the power bands.

Would like to see a little more secondary character development, but honestly you can see it start to take shape at the end of the book, so I feel book 2 will get into it more.

For this style of book, if you like lit rpg/system style series, then it should appeal to you.

It’s a good story, very little of it is the main character talking at this point though I’m sure we will see the perspective shift. I love the hints at an endless multiverse immeasurable in size and population. I look forward to exploring it throughout the series. The voice acting suffers from something that drives me nuts, when all of the characters sound sullen or snotty or dumb. None of the characters get a voice that isn’t brittle or sullen sounding like a child even though they are older. It’s as if any voice but the narrators own narration voice ends up being cartoonish, nasally or like some classically portrayed 80’s TV sitcom nerd. I’m not throwing the narration out with the bath water, he has some good qualities including his narration voice and I hope the vocal performance settles down in upcoming books since I don’t think every single main character voice needs to be move up in register from the narration voice. But I trust the narrator and the narration is solid and clear, pleasant even. I find most narration undergoes an evolution through a series so I’ll hope for the same here.

This story is a very interesting one and if you like to see the main character gain more and more power without it being boring and repetitive I recommend you try this story.
