Publisher's Summary

No-punches-pulled advice to women who want to stop undermining their own happiness once and for all

How to Stop Feeling Like Sh*t is a straight-shooting approach to self-improvement for women, one that offers no-crap truth-telling about the most common self-destructive behaviors women tend to engage in. From listening to the imposter complex and bitchy inner critic to catastrophizing and people-pleasing, Andrea Owen - a nationally sought-after life coach - crystallizes what's behind these invisible, undermining habits. With each chapter, she kicks women's gears out of autopilot and empowers them to create happier, more fulfilling lives. Powerfully on-the-mark, the chapters are short and digestible, nicely bypassing weighty examinations in favor of punch-points of awareness.

Life Changer

Andrea Owen has taken me on an emotional roller coaster through some of the life experiences I've swept under the rug and chose to ignore for decades. I bought the physical copy as well as the #Audible1 version of this book, and it has seriously changed the game for me. I feel like we've lived similar stories and her PDF that accompanies the book with all the tough questions to ask yourself, and work to do, is where the magic happens. She has empowered me to take the actions necessary to literally change my life for the better in countless ways. Great listen. Great read. Life changer!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!

Thoroughly Enjoyed This Book

I love personal development books that aren't afraid to sprinkle in some curse words. I, personally, find that it helps to digest the information a little easier.

I found this book as a wonderful refresher for both positive strategies and habits that may hinder personal development. I would recommend.

Down to earth statements and suggestions. Definitely a book that should be revisited over time when you need to get your life in order.

I feel like maybe I need to go read her first book

I feel like she touched on my issues for sure, but not sure the 10 minute run down was any help.

A review on general behavioral patterns

This book reviews a bunch of general behavioral patterns that hold people back in their relationships and personal wellness. The behavioral patterns mentioned range from being a people pleaser to someone who always blames others. The book also mentions exercises in self- awareness and ways to fix unhealthy problems. The author is understanding, seeks ways we connect to others, and emphasizes the importance of forgiveness and realizing we are only human. I think this is a good general self-help book for starters because it talks about a variety of unhealthy behavioral patterns instead of specializing in one topic like what some other books do. This is good for beginning to explore the issues holding you back from experiencing your best feeling of wellness if you don't already know yourself.

Love this book.

I personally loved this book and can’t wait to listen to it again however I have some girlfriends that need this book but won’t listen to it because of the swearing. I grew up with four brothers so I understand the author’s impact but I wish I could give them a copy that’s G rated. They would greatly benefit from this book.

A relatively good book...but lacked in originality

I loved a lot of moments in the book but I felt that overall she wasn't as authentic as I felt she could have been. I know she strived to be real and honest in the book and I gained a lot of good insights, but not many of them felt like the authors own personal revalations--so to speak. I think the book is a good reminder of some basic values in staying true to one's self and building from scratch.
I definitely think it's a good recommendation, and I think this author is simply going to get better with time.
I consider this book to be a good reminder for basic living and thinking techniques.
-Thank You

Stop using F##k to get, attention for titles.

I was willing to overlook the silly need to use f##k to make a point but the content is a rehash and not insightful. It comes down to being yourself. That's all folks. Too much about the author's me me me problems. In the book Ms Owen states."my girlfriend dropped me" what, was the point? You have no idea, why??That is hard to believe.
Where there is smoke there is,fire.
I'm sorry about her father's death but having to fly there for the last few days of his life was a sacrafise?
Really. I spent 7 years watching my husband decline in front of me from renal failure. fighting Medicare. dealing with doctors and hospitals etc.. You need to be older to write a book like this one. You are still wet behind the ears. Not much for a mature person to gain in this read.

Didn’t resonate with me...

I found I couldn’t relate to the style and much of the content. I debated bailing on it but stuck with it and was happy when I reached the end. There were a couple enlightening things for me but I just didn’t connect with most of it. I find myself wondering what attracted me to buying this one in the first place.

It finally clicked!

Highly recommend! Have listened to so many self help and empowerment books but this one hit a home run. I really enjoyed to straight talk and practical advice given for living your best life. My biggest takeaway? You don’t need anyone’s permission to make decisions about your life.

So many new realizations!

What did you love best about How to Stop Feeling Like Sh*t?

Yes! It's making me realize a lot of things I do that keep me stuck - numb'ing out, and how to have more empathy, which is important for having better relationships and friendships!

Any additional comments?

Our minds, stories we tell ourselves, how we were raised, and societal stuff can keep us stuck, or even from realizing what is possible for our lives. Andrea helps you "see" what is going on so you can begin to make changes that will help you kick some booty in life, and in an easy to understand way!
