Story
Digby Graves, a deceased medieval peasant with delusions of grandeur, is trying to figure out how the hell he ended up in Seattle 800 years after his death. Also, why does he have necrotic magic coursing through his zombified body? Added to that is the fact that he made a terrible first impression the moment he woke up by lunging at the first person that came into biting range. Now, the curse he's unleashed is loose in the world.

"Kill. Kill them all." It's the first four words Lars usually wakes up to every morning, a voice telling him she's just giving him a "quest" that will help him "level". But even if he wanted to do it, he can't. They're cultivators: beings with ancestral bloodlines that have powers he could only dream of, while he is stuck as a puny human. Even if he could kill them, the people who bullied him, beat him, treated him like a punch-bag pariah for being a "tailless worthless human", he wouldn't. That is, until a vicious group of murderous psychopaths called a "sect" descend on his village.

Publisher's Summary
A zombie on the run. The curse has been hijacked. Time for patient zero to step up.
The human race has become an endangered species in the two weeks since the bomb fell in Seattle. Luckily for Digby, that’s not his problem. Skyline believes that he and his coven were burnt to cinders, so all he needs to do is lay low. Well, that was what he hoped would happen.
Instead, Henwick’s plan to hijack the curse was successful, spreading a new kind of monster across the land. They’re faster, stronger, and more lethal than the dead that came before. With these creatures on the prowl, it doesn’t take long before the apocalypse once again comes knocking at Digby’s door.
His plan to laze around is foiled, so Digby grudgingly sets out in search of a new home. With new allies and adversaries to keep an eye on, his coven will have to uncover the secrets behind Henwick’s plans.
Is creating a safe haven enough, or will Digby be forced to go to war?

These books are certainly fun, perhaps not the greatest of literary achievements but with our lord and master of all spoken craft Travis Baldree at the helm of the performance it’s hard to go wrong. Fun, enjoyable, entertaining and well performed.

No Sophomore Slump Here
Revenant dives much deeper into the conspiracy behind Sky Line and discovers just how far it extends. We meet some new friends and learn a ton more about the heretic seed system. The spells and special abilities are epic compared to book 1. The same wit and humor is continued with Digby doubling down on his "Digby"ness. This is a really fun series done perfectly with a Zombie theme.

Not your typical zombie apocalypse
I really dislike all the zombie apocalypse movies and shows and wasn't ready to try this series. However, I do like Mr. Petrie's "Pixel Dust" series so I gave this a shot. Not what I expected and am glad it is not. Plenty of humor intermixed with drama to make for an enjoyable listen, especially with Mr. Baldree talents.

Zombies are not the only thing in the night
Lord Digby Graves has escaped the disaster at Seattle with his two apprentices. His plan is simple, find an amazing place to claim and lay low while they level up. The problem with this plan is that Skyline has modified the curse. When someone is turned, they turn into a revenant instead of a zombie. This means that there are a lot more hostiles now. On the plus side though, they are edible!
I was skeptical at first as I am not much of a zombie fan. I loved David Petrie’s other series, so I gave it a try. I am so happy that I did. This is such a fun series! Book 3 can not come soon enough! Fair warning: this series has significantly more language than Pixel Dust.

Unfortunately the wildly unlikable Rebecca is here
I want to like this series so much more than I do. I love the premise and the main character, but the side characters - especially Rebecca - constantly drag down both the main character and the plot. I don’t think 2 pages go by without her complaining about something. Started to fast forward through her dialogue towards the end or I wouldn’t have finished the book.
