Winner Listeners Choice Award - Best Science Fiction

The Martian meets Gravity when Army Pilot Vaughn Singleton, Earth’s last man, rushes to Area 51 in search of a spaceplane after he discovers the last woman is stranded on the International Space Station and barely alive - thus beginning a race against time. The event that wiped life from the planet started at the supercollider. It created a rift in space-time. The astronaut stranded aboard the space station, Commander Angela Brown, is a theoretical physicist who used to work at the collider. She may be able to reverse the event, restoring the timeline and returning all life to the planet...if only she could get there. If you like action-packed audiobooks that leave you sitting in your car long after reaching your destination, you'll love the electrifying action in this trilogy of award-winning thrillers.

Can Vaughn find a path to space and back? Can Angela - the only person capable of reversing humanity's disappearance - survive until he does?

"Like The Martian on (and above) Earth. An epic survival story with very human characters, clever problem-solving and a gripping mystery. The end left me with no idea where Dean was going with the story, I couldn’t wait for the next book.” (Craig Alanson, NYT best-selling author of Expeditionary Force)

"R.C. Bray and Julia Whelan are individually stellar. Having them co-voice Dean M. Cole's superb Dimension Space Series is a stroke of genius. Rich with elements of every genre, Solitude is an outstanding listen.” (Nicholas Sansbury Smith, USA Today best-selling author of Hell Divers)

An excellent beginning to the Dimension Space trilogy!

I really enjoyed Dean’s writing - he gives life to the characters in a believable and descriptive world. Both narrators are excellent! I am looking forward to the rest of the books in the series.

This book isn't what you think its better!

Can you imagine being in this situation? Stuck in space with no hope of rescue or stuck on the planet as the last person on earth. Well with this book you can... Also holy crap how quickly things go to shit when people aren't around is amazing. Loved this book , the desperation and the true grit to be brought together. Well Done!!! I bet I will enjoy the next book just as much

original

Great story looking forward to the next book. Only wish hey would try both narrators together instead of each carrying the male and female character voice. ultimately Bray and Whelan did a great job.

Weird mix of decent hard sci-fi and Hollywood style hyperbole

Difficult to rate this.
Some decent hard sci-fi elements. Lots of cliche moments. Some predictability issues.
Every time Vaughn’s chapters came up, I knew there would be some excessively-dramatic, Hollywood-movie style action, to the point that it became uninteresting.
Angela’s chapters were more interesting-ish, though little happened.
I got to the end to know more about the central “mystery”… and then got a transition designed for a second book. Ideally, this book would have been shortened by a third to excise some of the predictable material and get to the point with the interesting stuff I hope would be in book 2.
All that being said, I liked it enough to keep reading, and liked the characters enough to care by the end.

Wish it wasn’t a series

Great narration and a intriguing plot with a nice twist at the end of the first book. I wish it was a single book but I hate when they set out to make you buy more books. So I’ll not be buying the next book.

Excellent story, Excellent Narration

I really enjoyed this book narrated by R.C. Bray and Julia Whalen. Fantastic to have 2 voice actors instead of 1 person doing all the voices. Story is very well written, if you like sci-fi you will like this one.

Great!

I sometimes worry when there are very very few characters but not with this book. Totally entertaining and a great story.

Painfully Drawn Out

This entire book could have been three chapters. Him, Her, Rescue! Move on to something interesting happening. Instead everything is dragged out and pointless problems are always popping up. There has to be multiple rescue attempts and everything is constantly on the brink of failure. Both characters are super sloppy and make ridiculous mistakes constantly. It was weak.
