Publisher's Summary

Have you spent weeks, months, or even years trying to achieve your goals but keep failing? Have you given up on becoming successful because your futile efforts have led you to believe that success is only for the select few?

If you have answered “yes” to any of these questions - don’t worry, there is still hope for you!

Before you can achieve anything in life, you need a solid foundation of self-discipline. Talent, intelligence, and skill are only a part of the equation. Positive thinking, affirmations, and vision boards are only a part of the equation. If you want to turn your dreams into reality, you need self-discipline.

Self-discipline is what will keep you focused when all hell is breaking loose, and it looks like you are one step away from failure. It will give you the mental toughness required to dismantle the limitations you have placed on yourself and all obstacles standing in the way of your goals.

How would you feel if I told you that your inability to achieve your goals does not arise because you are lazy or lack drive, but rather it’s a problem because you have never been taught how to practice self-discipline? People are not born with self-discipline. Like driving or playing tennis, it’s a skill that you learn.

In The Power of Discipline you will discover:

  • How to master self-discipline by targeting certain areas of the brain
  • What is the Navy SEALs’ secrets to self-discipline
  • What are the Zen Buddhists’ secrets to self-discipline
  • How to ditch your bad habits and adopt the habits of successful people
  • What are the strategies to keep going when your motivation runs out

It’s impossible to buy back the time you have lost, but you can take control of your future.

I love this book! #MustHave

I can't recommend it enough to everyone who wants to succeed in life. The power of Discipline is necessary to achieve our goals and dreams. Without discipline, it's impossible to achieve anything worthwhile. This book also teaches how to use negative emotions to your advantage like fear, failure, shame, guilt, anxiety, sadness etc.

I shared to a couple of my friends. This book is very informative and helpful. You won't regret buying this one.

Very relatable. Excellent Book.

This book has given me the insight I needed to move from the planning stage to that of an execution stage as it relates to my goals. Evaluate where you are in your life and if you are not entirely satisfied and need a little push to get to where you want to be, buy this book.

Basic

Good concepts; just did not go deep enough into each. I listened to book once then registered and journaled during. A few takeaways and don't regret committing to it.

Simple, valuable, and important reminders and lessons

The book synthesizes many key lessons from other authorities in business, psychology and personal development. I put this on 2x the speed and listened to it on a Saturday morning in under 2 hours. It felt great to read this and learn from as it’s been on my list for a while. It was also a good discipline practice to focus on my breathing while taking in the words with as much focus as I could muster. I’m thinking of this book as the 80/20 of important insights related to discipline. It was well worth the listen for me

This is a treasure of a book!!!!

This was indeed, a deep easy listen book. I got so much out of it. Daniel Walter’s book open my eyes up to what we say to ours when facing challenges, struggles, and urges. I love “surf the urge” analogy!
There’s just so many pearls of wisdom and common sense. I also loved the narrater Russell Newton’s voice. His tone and rhythm matched my brain waves to a smooth understanding :))) Thank you!!!!

Disappointed and Confused

I really wanted to like this audiobook, however, most of it seems to be copied almost word for word from "Self-Discipline by Ian Tuhovsky" I listened to the entire thing hoping it would get better, but I had already heard almost every story, example and Statistic from this other audiobook. I'm very disappointed and confused because I paid for this one and the other one was included in the membership. I recommend listening to the original Tuhovsky version. It was written and narrated much better

A great listen!

This book contains some very helpful insights for me that I think will help me move forward from a difficult place in my life. The narrator was very effective with good pace and tone. It is a concise book, easy to refer back to as a guide, unlike some books that go on and on without getting to the point.
