Publisher's Summary

When two people's lives are spiraling out of control, can coming together pull both of them back up?

Alexis Woods knows who she is - or at least, she thought she did. She's number 17, point guard, MVP, all-star, co-captain of the Lady Raiders NCAA Division I women's basketball team. But there's a darkness growing inside of her, a darkness that started the night her beloved died in her arms, and if she doesn't turn things around soon, the darkness just might swallow her whole.

Graham Griffin knows a thing or two about darkness. That's been her zip code ever since the car accident that took her boyfriend's life - the car accident she caused. When she meets Alex, she sees a reflection of her own sorrow. And she can't help but want to fix it.

A Cathartic Joy

This author is expressive and articulate. In "To Have Loved & Lost", she draws you into a deep relationship-oriented plot line. Her beautiful, flawed, tough and sensitive characters are raw, deep, and happen to be lesbian. It is wonderful and realistic how the characters being lesbian isn't the main focus of the book and being lesbian isn't their identity, but just a piece of who they are. I find it refreshing to discover an author, who can portray real women in real friendships as real people. Thank you, Eliza Andrews! I HIGHLY recommend this author and her first book categorized as LGBT fiction. Hopefully, it will encourage, warm, thrill, and entertain other readers as much as it did me!

Sleeper Hit!

Bought this title because none of my favorite authors had anything new out. I was pleasantly surprised. Good writing, lovely story, well fleshed out characters--a lovely journey.
Narrator was talented and well suited for the story. I was very pleased. I hope to hear much, much more from this author and narrator.

Great Book!

This is a great love story. I know the LGBT community would love it but I also think straight people would enjoy it. You forget the story is about two women and it becomes a story about how two people finding each other and growing together. It's a simple message that we all have baggage but when you find the right person, it doesn't matter. Loved it!

Well written

The characters are rich and the emotion is in depth and on point. I really like the characters and the messy family dynamics. Will definitely be reading the next book by this author. Finding love is never easy and finding the perfect person amidst all the angst is special.

Eliza Andrews You’re Amazing!

I listened to the whole book in my 14 hour flight from Melbourne to Lax. It had me laughing and definitely crying. My wife had lost both of her parents and me thankfully never loosing anyone close and therefore not truly understanding what my wife has gone through, this book helped at least she’d a bit of light helping me empathizing with her. I love the way Eliza writes. Just love it. The only downfall about this audiobook was the narrator kept having long pauses sometimes between a paragraph or a break. It sort of threw me off. Regardless that was something little. I loved her voice and she did an amazing job doing the other character voices.
Can’t wait to listen to long way home up soul mountain now. Keep it up Eliza. Oh and I love the after writings that Eliza dies after he books. Keeps me inspired as a lesfic writer myself. You go girl! From one butch to another.

Excellent story, Excellent narrator

I have listened to A LOT of audio books and a lot of them have been lesbian romance. This book is definitely in my top 5. I would call it more of a drama with lesbian characters as the romance part, while definitely there, is just a small part of the very interesting and heart breaking story of our two lead characters. Eliza is an incredible story teller. Her characters are interesting and the supporting characters even steal the show a couple times (Anika being my fav - love that chick!). Angela Rysk is amazing at narrating this story. She is one of those narrators that is more acting then just reading and she really brings the emotion to the story. Her subtle accents for the main characters' best friends is spot on and suits them both perfectly. I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to listening to it again in the future.
