"I bet I can figure out everything you're going to read next year." Zibby Owens points out with her debut novel Blank how rigged the publishing industry is.

Zibby's debut novel Blank is so fun to read, and I had a blast reading it, but it also has a massively cool message, like The Emperor's New Clothes cool. The main character, celebrated author, Pippa Jones has a wild idea to publish a book with nothing in it, partly because her original idea was taken by another author and her deadline was fast approaching, and partly because she wants to point out some of the down and dirty sides of the publishing industry and how readers are fed all the books they think they are choosing. Zibby is a huge champion of authors, and encourager of readers, and a rebel with a good cause.
