About this listen

If you are a woman with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), you've probably known - all your life - that you're different. As girls, we learn which behaviors, thinking, learning, and working styles are preferred, which are accepted and tolerated, and which are frowned upon. These preferences are communicated in innumerable ways-from media and books to our first-grade classroom to conversations with our classmates and parents.

Over the course of a lifetime, women with ADHD learn through various channels that the way they think, work, speak, relate, and act does not match up with the preferred way of being in the world. In short, they learn that difference is bad. And, since these women know that they are different, they learn that they are bad. It's time for a change.

A Radical Guide for Women with ADHD is the first guided workbook for women with ADHD designed to break the cycle of negative self-talk and shame-based narratives that stem from the common and limiting belief that brain differences are character flaws. In this unique guide, you'll find a groundbreaking approach that blends traditional ADHD treatment with contemporary treatment methods, such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), to help you untangle yourself from the beliefs that have kept you from reaching your potential in life.

Heard myself…

It’s like at times someone was reading my minds diary. Very interesting, helpful and resourceful. Inspiring too!

Eye Opening

Recently diagnosed in my mid 20s and this book really put the pieces of my life together and made it make sense! It gave myself a better understanding of having ADHD and compasssion for myself as there have been many negative thoughts brought about because of my ADHD as I wasn’t like the others… but there’s a reason for that :)

Relatable but not very helpful

From the audio sample for this book, I thought it would give more statistics and facts about ADHD. All this did was give me a little bit of comfort but not a lot of help. The authors sound genuine and I’m not trying to discredit them, it just felt less informative than I thought it would from masters and doctorate students/professionals.

informative but not very helpful

Despite being informative, I didn't find the book to be very helpful. If you have ADHD or suspect you do, you won't find any valuable information not readily available on Instagram or Youtube. Considering who the authors are, I thought I would get more, but I didn't. Also it took some time to get through the book, because the narration was monotonous. Anyone with ADHD knows that you need something compelling and engaging to keep your mind engaged, and this audiobook didn't do that.

Wish I had read this sooner…

Insightful with practical application.
Looking forward to practicing the suggested techniques.
I am curious to find out how this would apply to teenage girls.

I feel so connected!

I was recently diagnosed and it blows my mind that 95% of my personality is an ADHD symptom 😂 The craziest part is HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE TOO!!
