Editorial Review

Change rarely happens all at once. As Atomic Habits shows, the road to success and life transformation starts with the smallest steps.

Atomic Habits: An Easy and Proven Way to Build Good Habits and Break Bad Ones is the outcome of writer James Clear’s lived experience, endless research, and countless discoveries about how making small–infinitesimally small–changes can lead to great self-improvement over time. This audiobook falls just as easily into the business and careers world as it does the self-help and habit formation genres. It offers a straightforward and manageable solution for anyone who wants to discard their old bad habits and build newer, better habits in order to progress in any endeavour.

A number-one nonfiction best seller in Canada and on the New York Times list, Atomic Habits has become the go-to guide for finding motivation, creating behaviour change and focusing on continuous improvement. By setting incremental goals and habit stacking, small changes become small habits, which replace bad habits and foster positive decision making. By implementing good daily habits, this innovative self-help book teaches the benefits of hard work and the power of habit. When a particular habit becomes automatic, it is ingrained as part of your identity, highlighting the compound interest of self-improvement. Current habits that are positive reinforce self-control, make bad habits impossible and can change your life with only a few simple steps. As Clear makes clear, the key to success and fulfillment is not to set lofty goals or aim for remarkable results but to steadily focus on forming new habits, which can truly change the way you see yourself, your abilities and your potential.

Atomic Habits is full of takeaways and gems of wisdom that will take your life to new heights. While a lot of people struggle with implementing the best of intentions, everyone can make small habit changes. Clear himself narrates this title with a style that smoothly weaves a story, adding his personality and own experiences to every line, for a system that is sure to bring success to any listener.

An actually actionable self help book.

Don't think of this a self help book.
Here's why:
It doesn't drag out the same points over and over again.
It doesn't give you examples of super humans achieving super feats.
It doesn't give you a formula for success
It's not trying to "inspire you" that's BS and we all know it.

The recommendations are actionable. They're not weird either. Unfortunately, for the most part, we are the summation of our habits. Changing those habits....

Making the changes described in this book won't be trivial either. But there are some quick hits you can apply right away. It's a horrible cliche but you might call them "life hacks".

Now having used that phrase I'm going to put my head in the toilet bowl and start flushing.

No PDF

I am enjoying listening to this audiobook, and would love if the PDFs were included. Since I don't sit at a desk while listening, I don't take notes, and would love to be able to reference the tables and worksheets later.

The ultimate 'how to change your life' manual.

This book complements my other favourite book 'The Power of Habit' by Charles Duhigg.

While 'The Power of Habit' answers the 'how' and 'why' of habit change and accompanies research, 'Atomic habits' shows us how to apply these changes with much needed everyday examples.

This book is basically a much needed sequel to the above mentioned book, complete with an instruction manual on how to initiate and stick with habit changes, along with other resources for a common person.

I'm glad I bought it and heard it start to finish.

READ THIS BOOK NOW. LIKE, NOW!!

Excellent on many levels.

Habits and structure aren’t the sexiest things in the world. And after years of indoctrination, I found myself polarized from anything that felt restrictive.

What I am coming to know, greatly due to this book, is that my human brain can always be rewired. No matter how unsexy structure can seem, it IS the way for us to thrive.

It is in creating containers that we can flow freely through life. And maximize its level of quality.

Hugely recommended.

worth the read!

Pleasantly surprised not all principals were entirely obvious. And those that were came along with practical application suggestions. Really enjoyed it. More importantly, I know I will benefit from this knowledge. Each chapter is summarized at the end but still found gems within the text. I'll be going online to access see of the tools. Check this out. you won't regret it.

Excellent and a lot of how to...

I really enjoyed this book as it was just as practical as it was informative. I really enjoyed going a bit deeper into the theory and having actionable steps attached. Well worth the time invested and a huge thanks to the Author.

Best book I have listened to.

Atomic Habits is the perfect how to book with clear explanations and great illustrations. James Clear has a compelling, compassionate and kind voice. I think this is probably the best how-to book I've ever read and I will be listening to it over and over again. I have also subscribed to his website and newsletters and extras that he talks about in the book. I can't say enough about this book. It is a must-read

Author went overboard hawking his site

I would have enjoyed this book a lot more if he had held back in promoting his website half a dozen times per chapter. That was completely unnecessary and created a disappointing experience for readers.

I'll state this, this book should be read, then studied. I'll probably read this book twice a year until my life habits are conducive to the life I desire to live. many times we try to change but life gets in the way. the author provides a framework to overcome the mental aspect towards establishing the habits you want.

The "after book" is awful

The book itself is very good, it really brings very interesting things, although they are common sense, they are very well said, the problem is that the author throughout the book (seriously, all the time) promises extra material in a web page that ... oh surprise, it does not exist, honestly that was a disappointment to me, because if I buy the book, where a thing is promised that then does not exist, I feel like I have been cheated. Inevitably every time I see some other product of this same author, I do not intend to buy it, because I think I will be deceived again with something else.

Great Book on Habits!

I haven't even finished yet and I have used some of the information. If you want to begin a new habit or stop an old habit, look no further. The book is short and concise. The subject matter is very clear an easily understood. The author tells where to go for downloads, but I wish there was a PDF download with Audible. That is the only problem I have encountered so far. I think you will need the downloads. As a low vision user, the easier the process is, the better for me. I seldom do a review; so, you know I highly recommend this one.

Immature tone and mediocre contet

Though this book has some ok advice on forming habits it's been much better presented in other books. The whole tone of the author is extremely self obsessed and he comes across sounding like an imatture 15 year old who thinks he's an expert because he's read two book in his life. If you want a good book about habits that is both much better researched and written, you should instead go for The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg.

Motivational and very well-structured book!

I genuinely enjoyed listening to this audiobook. (which also happened to be my first) Although English is not my first language, I found the reading by the author very clear and well-structured. I also find it very easy to navigate.

As an eternal procrastinator, this book offered me a fresh perspective on habits and their power that I didn’t truly realize. What I like the most about this book, is how action-oriented it is. It is full of tips that everyone can apply immediately in their daily life.

The only negative part is that I didn’t find the pdf resources the author mentioned in the book. Else it is great!! I feel motivated to put some of the advice of the author into practice. 😊

The power of #habits

In this book, the author shows that becoming and epic performer relies less on an innate hability of doing things better than others. instead, if one can identify a field in which they are ready to invest time energy and all, they will become so good that they can't be ignored. the secret of it all relies on sticking to the right habits and building them over time and also getting rid of the wrong ones.
