Publisher's Summary

In the zombie apocalypse, your worst enemy may be yourself.

Rose Winter has enough problems. With a marriage going down the tubes and a dreaded anniversary party on the horizon, the last thing she needs is the zombie apocalypse. She wanted to get drunk and sing karaoke, not murder her undead neighbors. It’s clear the party’s over, however, now Rose has more problems - a missing husband, an overbearing houseguest, and keeping her family alive.

Tom Jensen has inflexible rules. Rule number one? Don’t deviate from the plan. But when his life is overturned in the space of minutes, his plans die along with everything else. The world is finished, the future is uncertain, and survival means living in the last place he’d planned to be. Maybe his rules weren’t meant to be broken, but if he can’t change his tune, he risks losing the one thing he has left - his daughter.

Craig Matthews has a mission: get to Oregon. Doable, maybe, if he could bring himself to leave his apartment. With his food and water near gone and death closer than ever, a chance encounter may lead to finding his friends - if he can first find his courage.

Unfortunately, the new world doesn’t always mean leaving old problems behind, and as the West Coast succumbs to the virus, the survivors face more than the undead - they face themselves. But in an existence where fences offer dubious safety and zombies certain danger, people may save you in more ways than one.

Amazing

This is my third series by Sarah Lyons Fleming, and it does not disappoint. It held up to every single expectation I had and then more. I CANNOT wait for the second book coming out soon, and I’ve re listened to the other series multiple times while patiently waiting!
The character development is so fantastic and we haven’t even fully seen the arc yet. If you’ve been debating on this series, do it. It’s worth two credits IMO, and do yourself a favor and check out where this universe first takes place in “Until The End Of The World”. Every other zompoc books I’ve read doesn’t hold a candle!

Couldn’t stop!

Every spare moment I had to listen I was listening! I couldn’t wait to turn it back on to know what was going to happen next. I loved that the story was told through the different perspectives of the characters giving you an inside look at who they really are vs just the perspective of what someone else saw of them. The storyline was captivating and I loved that the main characters were older and had more things to worry about than themselves. I honestly don’t have enough time to tell you how much I loved this book so I going to leave it at this so I can get to the next one!

The underdog

Great character development! I loved hearing everyone's different perspective and seeing the characters grow for the better. Craig's storyline was the best! you gotta love the underdog!

Sarah Lyons Fleming is my fave

Every book SLF has written gets added into my catalogue of favourites as soon as I’m finished. She’s an incredible story teller and her characters are always…. magical. When I finish a series I feel so sad, like I’m saying goodbye to friends. DO IT! Best series (in my opinion) is Until The End Of The World (and don’t forget “so long lollipops” after book two).

Excellent

The narration with multiple people was very good. The story was captivating and the behavior of the characters was plausible in the circumstances they found themselves in.

Easy listening!

Huge zombie fan and loved the story. The voice performers made it interesting and I went through this audio book faster than I’d like to admit. Definitely recommend.
