Story
In 1994, Driven to Distraction sparked a revolution in our understanding of attention deficit disorder. Now a second revolution is under way in the approach to ADD, and the news is great. Drug therapies, our understanding of the role of diet and exercise, even the way we define the disorder, all are changing radically. And doctors are realizing that millions of adults suffer from this condition, though the vast majority of them remain undiagnosed and untreated.

A revelation!
As a 40 year old who has just being diagnosed with ADHD after years of struggling with... Something... This book was amazing for me. It was recommended by my therapist, and in listening to the case studies, I found so many instances where I had experienced the exact same thing.
The book itself becomes slightly repetitive toward the end, and I do feel like we're at a major disservice by not being able to see some of the charts that are included in the printed version, but overall it was a great book, and really helped me to align my diagnosis with other adults experiencing ADHD.

Foundational Education: Expert Information, Pleasant Delivery
I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Dr. Hallowell does a wonderful job explaining ADHD. I was diagnosed with ADHD 6 years ago, and have been educated about it off and on since then. I learned new things from his book, even though it is dated. I would consider this book one of the (if not thee) most foundational books on ADHD. I feel Dr. Hallowell speaks about ADHD matter-of-factly, and the fact that he also has ADHD makes you relate to him on a certain level. The narrator has a pleasant, theatrical voice that is enjoying to listen to. He puts outstanding emphasis in all the right places and the highs and lows of his voice will not put you to sleep. Very, very good book.
