Publisher's Summary

The best-selling author of Head Strong and The Bulletproof Diet answers the question, “How can I kick more ass at life?” by culling the wisdom of world-class thought leaders, maverick scientists, and disruptive entrepreneurs to provide proven techniques for becoming happier, healthier, and smarter.

When Dave Asprey started his Bulletproof Radio podcast more than five years ago, he sought out influencers in an array of disciplines, from biochemists toiling in unknown laboratories to business leaders changing the world to mediation masters discovering inner peace. His guests were some of the top performing humans in the world, people who had changed their areas of study or even pioneered entirely new fields. Dave wanted to know: What did they have in common? What mattered most to them? What made them so successful - and what made them tick? At the end of each interview, Dave asked the same question: “What are your top three recommendations for people who want to perform better at being human?”

After performing a statistical analysis of the answers, he found that the wisdom gleaned from these highly successful people could be distilled into three main objectives: finding ways to become smarter, faster, and happier. Game Changers is the culmination of Dave’s years-long immersion in these conversations, offering 46 science-backed, high performance “laws” that are a virtual playbook for how to get better at life.

With anecdotes from game changers like Dr. Daniel Amen, Gabby Bernstein, Dr. David Perlmutter, Arianna Huffington, Esther Perel, and Tim Ferris as well as examples from Dave’s own life, Game Changers offers listeners practical advice they can put into action to reap immediate rewards. From taming fear and anxiety to making better decisions, establishing high-performance habits, and practicing gratitude and mindfulness, Dave brings together the wisdom of today’s game-changers to help everyone kick more ass at life.

Definitely not game changing.

I bought this as I have enjoyed Dave Asprey's previous books. This one seems like a rip off of Tim Ferris's tools of titans idea. If you have listened to the podcast there is nothing new here, it is in essence just a rehashing of things from the podcast. I was hoping for so much more as he had been talking about spending hours doing a statistical analysis of his podcasts. I don't know how just grouping the most popular answers to one question can be considered statistical analysis?
If you have never heard the podcast it might be a useful book, but if you are a listener don't waste your time as you probably know everything in the book.

I wish the chapters in audible had proper names..

It would be much easier to navigate and refer back to things (without relying on bookmarks) if the chapters were properly labelled with the actual names of the chapters

Life’s User Manual

My mind is blown, this is such simple and key information that is easily digestible and has the power to change the world. There is no way you could possibly read this and not make change.

Thank you Dave, so much love.

So bad and unrealistic!

To the regular person, the buzzwords, suggestions and jumping from idea to concept sound legit but they are so far fetched and gradually ludicrous as the book goes on. I feel sorry for this guy and his poor wife who’s had to put up with his whacky ideas! I endured many bad books and finished them all but couldn’t make it through this one! Don’t waste your time drinking ‘butter in your coffee and cuming once a month to biohack your brain!!!’

Wish it was all Dave

The content was FANTASTIC and I highly recommend this book to anyone, particularly people who are looking for practical ways to improve how they show up in this world and have ambitions requiring high levels of performance.

My ONLY criticism is that the performer who read most of it didn't really do it justice. While he was clear, well-spoken and concise, a lot of the nuances of the author's writing voice (which is very verbal and aligns perfectly with his speaking voice) were completely lost and much of his dry, nerdy sarcastic humor (that I love so much and I'm sure I speak for many of his fans there) made several key parts sound clunky, awkward and sometimes completely failed to communicate what I believed to be the intended meaning of several passages.

Especially if you prefer listening over reading or have trouble staying focused on information-dense literature, I highly recommend listening to this MULTIPLE times and at least once leaving it on 1x speed.

Game Changers is game changing

I don't write many reviews, but, I read a lot, I listen to audiobooks when I'm not reading. I was compelled to write this review. Dave's book is a gift to those who are on a journey to become better, more efficient, creative humans beyond who they already are! Dave not only dives into the science behind every life-bio-hack, but, has proven they work by self testing everything he recommends. And, although, I've had a few chuckles at his expense over how he's had such bad luck growing up within toxic environments, inability to be a normal kid (it's mean I know), but, it's almost impossible to imagine him that way considering who he's become and how accomplished he is. I've tried a number of different supplements, diets etc to get my energy levels up, my thinking process to be more focused and very little has worked. Dave's roadmap is life altering. Not only am I more energized, but, I'm excited about a more profound life journey because of this book. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to grow, manage health, optimize and become the best of who you can possibly be and become! Good luck! 🙏🏽

Thank you for the great content.

I've read all Dave Asprey's books and this is my favorite so far. It promotes the Bulletproof products less than other books. It's a type of "Tools of Titans" but with much better takeaways to improve ones health, performance and well-being.

Absolutely incredible and life changing book!

This book is a true game changer! This is right up there with the greatest books of all time in terms of study and life changing positive impact, at least for me and I am convinced for everyone else that chooses to read it. Just based on what I have gotten out of this book, and will continue to be getting out of it as I implement more and more of these laws / lessons with future study, it's worth its weight in gold and more. I have placed this book among the top 5 books for me. It's to share the spotlight with the likes of Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill, How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie, As a man thinkers by James Allen, and the Bible. All books worth reading, re-reading, and continuing to reread with committed study.

Pseudo-scientific Garbage

Dave Asprey's Game Changers is so bad sometimes, it becomes funny. I get it why people who want quick easy ways for a better life like this book. From speed reading to popping pills. "I plan to live at least 180 years old". This is your quick guide to pseudo-scientific garbage.
For example. When explaining the whole Dual n Back training he states that it improves the fluid intelligence with 50%.
Meaning from 100 to 150. Also it greatly improves math capabilities.

A few minutes (paragraphs) later he states that he couldn't imagine giving talks with only half the fluid intelligence that he had before the training. Okay. 100 isn't half from 150.. his math skills aren't really improved.

Then he says that almost all ultra endurance athletes uses nootropics and do microdosing. That is not true. As a runner who does triple digit races, the ultra endurance world is a huge part of my life. Statements like that are completely untrue and only serve to sell his way to expensive products

Somewhere in the beginning of the book. He gives an example of an unhealthy meal: "A pseudo vegan burrito"
What is true though is that a great deal of ultra endurance athletes and both the most successful woman (Lizzy Hawker) and man (Scott Jurek), and the guy who ran the Sahara desert (Charlie Engle) did that plant powered!

This book is a “no brainer”

I have read a couple of Dave’s Books and this is the one I recommend most frequently as it goes wide rather than deep and gives the reader a wealth of information. The laws presented herein are data driven recommendations for becoming a better version of yourself and are easily incorporated into everyday life. If more people took it upon themselves to proactively improve rather than relying on traditional medicine we would live happier, healthier, and longer. This book is a great starting point to get yourself on the right path.

Ego And Intelligence

I listen to the Dave Asprey Podcast regularly and if I had to sum up Dave's "Brand" it's a mixture of self help, ego, salesmanship, and intelligence. I enjoyed the book thoroughly. One part of the book I found funny is towards that end where he talks about where the correlation between happiness and money peaks at $75,000. Also, he touts minimalism and not material stuff as a life philosophy. I applaud these points in the book, but this is coming from a guy the plugs his products whenever he gets the chance during the Podcast. Also, how can you be minimalist and be a biohacker? He lives on an island, has a farm, takes tons of supplements, flying constantly, buys lots of bio hacking products and equipment, etc. How much further can you get from a minimalist lifestyle and also one that can be achieved at $75,000 per year income? I mean the cost of '40 Years Of Zen' alone is $15,000 according to a quick internet search. Anyway, those are some critiques, but I really did enjoy the book. It's a book that I think anyone can get something positive from. I do think by him talking about health improvement techniques he's popularizing them, encouraging competition, and eventually lowering the cost.

Another great book from Dave Asprey

As an executive, athlete & daughter of parents with Alzheimers and Parkinson’s... I find all of Dave’s content extremely relevant, important and educational. Game Changers is no different.

One of my all time favorite books so far...

This is one of the most recommended and talked about books for me in a long time. It’s the only book I felt compelled to send to the CEO of my company along with a recommendation and questions about which of the ideas in the book the CEO already practices. I read this back to back with three other amazing books and it still stands out the most. The other three were Homo Deus, Cosmosapiens, and How to Change the Mind. Dave did a great job with this! I also wear True Dark glasses and drink Bullet Proof coffee but not just because of this book. I would like to reach 178 years old just to see if Dave’s estimation of his own life span comes true.
