Solid

A solid foundation of leadership theory. It confirms things I've intuitively figured out and adds a few layers that I hadn't considered. I'd happily recommend to someone starting out with a leadership role. It's applicable both to business and non-profit realms. The narration is quite good. #Audible1

Great info. but this reader tough to listen to

All of the information is great about Leadership in this book. I suggest to but the companion or hard copy. Sixth edition has some new examples which is great. This edition's reader not as good as the authors reading the book in previous edition.

One of the worst narrators

Listening to this book was like hearing a high-timber loud person recounting a panicky situation for nearly 10 hours. What a poor quality production.

A classic of any administration curriculum

This book was required text for one of my undergraduate classes in leadership. I didn't care about the reader, but the content is great. I have been in a leadership pretty much since the beginning of my professional life, due to this most of the concepts of this book are familiar to me, but there are the few "I wish I had known before" moments.

Although this book is old, it is fresh because the writers continually update it with current relevant examples and information.

If this is a textbook, then you have no alternative, but I think it is a worthy listening even if it is just for the curious or the rest that hold or wish to hold a leadership position.

Great content. But slow paced.

Loved the content. Good tried-and-true practices. The narrator sounded like he was from NPR. I sped it up to 1.5 times just to keep interested.

Narration

The content of this book is really good!
However, the narration is monotone, which makes it boring. Many times I had to stop the audio and decided to read instead, which deceives the purpose of having an audible. In my busy life I listen while I am driving. Such book full of variety of compelling stories requieres a more dynamic voice. Something Audibles should consider is to use more female narrators!

Anecdotal tidbits & Quotes from random middle management

Not great. Content lacks substance and purpose. It’s many little unconnected anecdote tidbits pulled together from everyone and everything without a clear message. Lacks research, depth and purpose. This is not the book to take you to greatness but may provide some surface anecdotes to someone just starting out.
