Its okay. Hopefully the next book is better
Well, The Frisha character has gone from okay to cringe worthy, I was never really a fan of how she was written and now the direction the author has taken her is very much cringe worthy, to the point where I had to skip past the parts with her in it. There is a lot going on in this series and unfortunately Frisha is a big part of whats going on, I do hope the author can move past her onto better characters or write her out all together. If not I will be cutting this series from my list.
Overall this book and the others in the series are a good read “listen” but the Frisha character may start to ruin the series as she has for me. Good luck
The narrator is a rockstar as usual

Best one yet
This is an excellent series, and it's only made better by the talented Nick Podehl. His voices are so good, you know who is talking without being told. I've heard other books he has read and his performance is by far the best I've heard. I can't wait for the next book in this series and pray that Nick is reading it.

Better than book 3. Not as good as 1 and 2
Pros:
- New interesting societies. Kel has a talent here!
- Main annoyances of book 3 are not continued here
- New challenges and Kel continues to find cool out of the box thinking to overcome them
Cons:
- Disappointed on how much time is spent on the few whiny characters whining with little personal development
- Little time spent on the relationships I hoped to read more about, while the new relationships were not that enjoyable
For me, I hope that book 5 completes the story. I want to find out what happens and read more about Rezkin, but I'm starting to not care about most of the other characters. Books 1 and 2 were flawless so it'll suck to stop mid-series.

Going down hill
This book takes the series from a good dark fantasy series to a bad teen romance. I don't think I will continue the series after this book.
on the plus side Nick Podehl did an excellent job narrating as usual, using different accents to highlight when different languages are spoken.

When does the whiny stop
I loved the first two books but I just can't handle the whiny characters. How long does it take for someone to trust another character or just leave. It seems like the same thing over and over, oh you kill people, I can't trust you.
I am a couple hours in and I think I am going to return it, I can't take it anymore.

For love of god, stop whining already
The series was a price winning racehorse, which was maimed by this book.
In my not-so-humble opinion the story has grown stagnant and the characters can do little more than be whiny, distrustful and infuriatingly burdensome thorns in Rezkin's confused buttocks.
They can't do a single thing right, follow a single order, or do anything remotely useful. The only exception was Rezkin's pet mage.
Even Rezkin has been watered down, been elevated to the rank of glorified babysitter, and is currently slowly turning into a emotional rollercoaster.
Simply put, this book was one of my biggest disappointments this year.

What was the author thinking?
I was hesitant to get this book because of the bad reviews. The first two were amazing books with a lot of potential but the author no longer cares about this series and it shows in the lazy writing. He forces two characters that had no chemistry to fall for each other. Gets rid of the main characters female intrigue for no reason and doesn’t allow them to have a proper discussion as soon as they added the Faye this series has gone downhill and I’m going to ask for a refund. I genuinely feel like I’ve been robbed of time.

Such s Shame
Clearly Kade had originally planned a trilogy but the first two were very popular and either through greed or reluctance to let his literary baby go, he decided to tack extra stuff on. He could have written a brilliant trilogy. He'll end up with 9 banal books.
Another princess
ANOTHER MAGIC SWORD
Tacked on side quests
WHINGING
As always, the Audible reviews VASTLY exaggerate the books merits.
