Everyone needs a kick in the ass from time to time
First of all, this isn't a traditional self-help book. This is a collection of life coaching sessions with an expert in the field, each with a new client with a different set of problems they want help addressing. Mel is truly skilled at drilling down to the source of an issue that someone is having, and really gets to the heart of the problem quickly. She is incredibly honest and grounded, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with her approach. Even if you don't identify directly with each person, you'll surely gain some insight into how you can take a look at your own life and identify areas where you could use a little help. Now that I've finished, I'm off to listen to the rest of Mel's books!

Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Really Insightful
- By Amazon Customer on 2018-03-06
I've listened to this book more than once
This may sound basic, but I'm obsessed with the The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I adore the voice of the narrator, Emily Woo Zeller — she's so calming that I feel like I'm meditating when I listen to her. I've listened to this book more than once and it always puts me in a happy, productive mood.
And in terms of enacting the book's teachings, the audio format wins over print for me because you can tidy as you listen! As quirky as some of the tenets are, the broader reminders to treat things well and focus on what you cherish are refreshing to hear while surrounded by a cultural cacophony of messages to consume.

Life-changing
This is likely to be the single most important book I have ever read. The message is clear, OKRs are the way to get things done. But not just for getting things done, for creating a culture of openness, clarity, honesty, safety. This book has a full cast of narrators who have talked the talk and walked the walk. They provide the evidence for the system. They make you care so deeply about each element and make the listening experience enjoyable and engaging. John Doerr has become a hero to me after listening to this, I will implement the lessons learned in this book for the rest of my life and try to spread this message. I cannot recommend this book enough. I am so thankful to everyone involved in creating and making this book available.
